choppa_: Apologies if I'm interrupting, could someone please direct me to the correct place to ask for help configuring a DVB-T based tuner on Linux Mint 18.1 Cinnamon?
I am having difficulties with a "PCI" card (model DTV2000DS, non plus) as listed https://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/Leadtek_WinFast_DTV2000DS - specifically, I note that the card, which is a PCI-based dual DVB-T tuner (VIA USB controller to AF9013/AF9015 USB tuners) - has disappeared from my system after a reboot. It worked after some configuration from a stock install - namely, I had to...
...install the dvb-usb-af9015.fw into /lib/firmware/ as I noticed dmesg was telling me there was a firmware missing - however after attempting a w_scan (it found a few items), then shutting down the machine to relocate it to a better vantage point (better reception), and booting it up / rebooting it multiple times, the card is not being detected normally.
lsusb doesn't list it anymore, lspci still lists the VIA USB controller, and dmesg has only these errors listed, twice:
> usb 4-1: new full-speed USB device number 3 using uhci_hcd
> usb 4-1: device descriptor read/64, error -71
I've disabled usbcore.autosuspend=-1 in grub, hoping that would solve the issue, but no dice. BIOS is not very powerful / customisable, as it's a Dell based system (Dell OptiPlex 980 to be exact).
Appreciate any assistance.
