gunchyo: hi. i will submit a bud report to bugzilla but before
has anyone ever seen a multi-tuner Hauppauge card only load half of the tuners?
Example, quad tuner, only two tuners show up in kernel logs and in frontend software
I hope it's not hardware failure because I don't see any warranty info for Hauppauge
b-rad: gunchyo, can you share logs?
gunchyo: give me a moment to organize them
I have two tuner cards in at the moment so I just want to comment
and I tried with multiple kernel versions, and two different distros
b-rad, Good boot with 4 tuners: https://arin.ga/Mdd0Km/raw | bad boot with 2 tuners: https://arin.ga/rAE2vt/raw
i think
I may have caused an electrical shock when working on the system :(
ignore 0000:1e:00.0, this is my single tuner card
b-rad: the "bad" log is indeed missing one of the pci id's
gunchyo: so, is this hardware failure then :(
or can I force it to read the old pci id
b-rad: if that id doesn't show up on the bus it sounds uncommunicable
the boards should be fairly robust, i tend to be rather careless and have never fried one ...knock on wood
so very bad luck if you did
gunchyo: i've rebooted many times and tried in another computer even
in the other PC running arch, latest kernel, only one tuner showed up
b-rad: yeh if you cleaned and reseated it it doesn't sound good
 gunchyo: :(
it is under warranty
i just checked but only for a few more months
i just not sure if they would accept it
I relaly don't remember if I touched it when installing a new HDD
b-rad: well make a support ticket, i uhm won't say anything lol
 gunchyo: well I don't remember :|
so I probably didn't touch it
btu I was wearing my grounding arm strap!!
so I was grounded!
b-rad, do you think I should send the kernel log pci IDs to the tech support
at least I mean line 22?
b-rad: send full log if they ask for it and just say whats wrong
 gunchyo: ok
i'm sad now :(
i'm a failure computer operator
install HDD, tuner broken
try so hard, get so far... in the end, it doesn't even matter :(
b-rad, what else is new with LinuxTV?
void09: gunchyo: I got some usb tuners from aliexpress, $15 a piece
anyone here that is experienced with oscam and/or tvheadend ?
i am super confused about how i'm supposed to make them work together
 gunchyo: void09, tvheadend yes
idk what oscam is
what aliexpress tuners?
b-rad: i been gone for almost 8wk, i'm behind the times
