Could be a 50 vs 60 hz issue. maco1717_: btw this is when opening on mplayer
well trying to...
im UK
oh, wait I know who you are, (i think) i read loads of "post" from you... hverkuil: the driver should default to 50 hz, so that should be ok.
Try using qv4l2 instead of mplayer. maco1717_: i have tried but it doesnt start up hverkuil: why not? does it crash? maco1717_: it doesnt even come up
I click to open from GUI and nothing comes up...
the only thing i managed to get was once that the capturer wasnt actually connected i tried to open it and i prompted with an error message no capturing device found hverkuil: enter a console, run 'v4l2-ctl -D' and see if it finds a video device. maco1717_: I'm not on my PC ATM (at work) hverkuil: if v4l2-ctl finds a video device, then running qv4l2 should work as well. If there are more video devices (such as a webcam), then you can select which one to use with the '-d' option: v4l2-ctl (or qv4l2) -d /dev/video0 (or 1 or 2, etc).
video0 is the default. maco1717_: I'll give that a try thanks.
hverkuil: I was wondering you wouldn't know if August VGB100 and http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00JP4SZ7M?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 would work together on Linux easily would you?
Im out home now
wahooa! ***: awalls has left
benjiG has left
awalls has left maco1717: hverkuil: my mistake, I confused qv4l2 test utility with guvcview... qv4l2 loaded fine but when I press play to get feed I get the green screen I was telling you, I tried what you said, the v4l-ctl -D and It was showing capturer device... :S what else could I try?
@maco1717 xreal: Are DVB-T sticks with RTL2832U still state-of-the-art ? myself: for DVB or or SDR work? heh
I've never heard of anyone actually watching TV on one, that's novel xreal: myself: DVB
myself: I've got a RTL2832U for SDR.
IRC is dead, isn't it ? myself: no, you're just operating in a different frame of patience!
