kbingham | pinchartl: Are there any drivers already in V4L2 which mirror the ADV/RVin relationship, - I.e. a driver which has links, which is external to the driver which holds on to the media-device?
I've hit an issue with neg's RVin, where on resetting links - the call to link-notify goes to the RVin driver, but of course it gets very unhappy about being given links from between my entities ! :D | [09:16] |
pinchartl | kbingham: smiapp + omap3isp should support that
the smiapp driver creates up to two subdevs if I recall correctly | [09:19] |
kbingham | pinchartl: Thanks - I'll go take a peek | [09:19] |
pinchartl | and the omap3isp driver has lots of internal links | [09:19] |

kbingham | pinchartl: Ah, ok - I think the issue is understood better now. This is possibly a new topic - because the links are created internally in the ADV748x, but the media_device_ops.link-notify goes to the rcar-vin. And Rvin doesn't know anything about those links.
I think we'll need to move the .link_notify such that it notifies the link 'owner' somehow. | [10:08] |
pinchartl | the operation already receives a pointer to the link
the implementation can thus ignore external links | [10:10] |
