hey peeps. Is there a proposal/implementation of stereo M2M devices?
BanHammor: 'stereo' as in 3D? (i.e. side-by-side or top-bottom 3D formats)
the short answer is 'no' BTW.
I've been working with a stereo camera this week, actually
But they simply output either YUV422 image that is width*2 in size or Y8I that's packed into single image
And both seem to work via V4L
Unless you're talking about something different
this one https://www.stereolabs.com/
hm okay i see
Gekko, so a top/bottom layout, would be nice to be able to signal the layout in the long term
Right
ndufresne: I had ideas for that using the 'field' field in the v4l2_pix_format struct. Normally used for interlaced formats, but I think it can be used for 3D as well (or introduce a new field along similar lines).
Never had enough motivation or need to actually think it through and implement something.
haha, funny, that's exactly what BanHammor was telling he was doing on #gstreamer
hverkuil, and while I was thinking of it, I first told him it was probably similar to interlacing
might need an extra offset though, I'd assume both images are same strides and relative offsets
but we probably need in some case the offset between the first and the second image
(unless it's side by side)
I'd love for someone to get this to work.
seems all pretty feasible
I agree.
i'll try to submit something into upstream once this driver/device is out of development hell
hverkuil: sorry, I was unable to answer your ping yesterday. If you still need to talk me, feel free to ping me again
