Hey hverkuil, this is really useful, thanks! following this wiki guide I got a warning that I dont have the full kernel sources installed. I suspect this could be the source to my problem and will try to figure out how to get the full kernel before proceeding.
jbergj: you may have to install a package like linux-headers-amd64 (debian-based distros) to install the headers corresponding to your installed kernel.
