bbrezillon | hverkuil: are you working on the DELETE/DESTROY/RELEASE_BUFS implem? | [08:22] |
hverkuil | bbrezillon: no | [08:23] |
bbrezillon | I have the basic VP9 decoding working now, and would like to start implementing the dynamic fmt change (BTW, as I mentioned earlier, not only the resolution can change, the format can change too)
hverkuil: ok | [08:23] |
hverkuil | bbrezillon: I have no plans to work on this. I'd like to, but I don't believe I'll have the time for it.
at least not this year. | [08:35] |
bbrezillon | hverkuil: I can do it
just wanted to make sure no one else was already on it | [08:39] |

ndufresne | bbrezillon: hverkuil: Tomas was saying it's a little inconsitent with the controls to allow S_FMT like this without a request, that being said, it's more complex to program with a request, and does not bring anything, just a 2-cents consideration | [08:58] |
.... (idle for 16mn) | ||
bbrezillon | hverkuil: just asked danvet on #dri-devel and he seems to be fine with the p010 and p012 names for the packed P010/P012 formats
hverkuil: can I go for that name? | [09:14] |
...... (idle for 27mn) | ||
hverkuil | bbrezillon: sure!
looks like a decent name. | [09:41] |
narmstrong | hverkuil: hi, do you know when the meson-cec fix will be push to linus ? https://git.linuxtv.org/media_tree.git/commit/?h=fixes | [09:44] |
hverkuil | Should appear in 5.5-rc1 if I am not mistaken. | [09:46] |
narmstrong | hverkuil: and BTW I sent a v4l2-mem2mem change to fix the meson compliance, I tried my best, but it's my first time in the v4l2 core !
hverkuil: ok, I'll re-ping if it doesn't appear | [09:46] |
hverkuil | narmstrong: thanks! I'll try to make time to review that this week. | [09:47] |
narmstrong | thanks ! | [09:47] |
hverkuil | narmstrong: ping me if I still haven't reviewed it by the end of next Monday. | [09:47] |
narmstrong | ok | [09:50] |

arnd | hverkuil: I pushed a branch with all the suggested changes to git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arnd/playground.git refs/heads/y2038-v4l2-v5
if you have no other comments, I'd post them as v5 | [15:39] |
hverkuil | Just one small comment for v4l2-core: fix v4l2_buffer handling for time64 ABI:
Move the struct __kernel_v4l2_timeval definition to just after the 'M E M O R Y - M A P P I N G B U F F E R S' comment. It does belong in that section of the header. With that change you can post the v5. I'll try to test it at least for regular 32 and 64 bit this week. I'd like to get this merged for 5.6. arnd: thanks again for working on this. That struct v4l2_buffer is really the worst of all worlds :-( | [15:45] |

arnd | hverkuil: ok, done | [16:18] |

bparrot | hverkuil: sailus: when is 'slave-mode' needed? | [18:21] |
hverkuil | arnd: the patch series broke something. I'm getting v4l2-compliance failures with G/S_EDID and G_EXT_CTRLS.
I'll look into this some more tomorrow morning. I suspect patch 3/8. | [18:29] |
hmm, not 3/8. | [18:38] | |
arnd: it's 4/8.
I think something related to the always_copy flag is broken. | [18:46]
arnd | https://www.irccloud.com/pastebin/7sNCwhp9/
hverkuil: might it be that one? I just noticed that I broke commands returning >0 | [18:50] |
.......... (idle for 47mn)
hverkuil | arnd: that seems to do the trick. v4l2-compliance now passes again for the vivid driver. | [19:38] |
