montjoiefun, I test output of zoran with ffmpeg, and got the input instead... so the card act as proxy [06:41]

hverkuiljmondi: I'm marking the v9 'report camera sensor properties' series as 'Changes Requested' based on Mauro's feedback. It's basically a renaming change, so it shouldn't be too much work to make a v10. [08:21]
....... (idle for 31mn)
jmondihverkuil: it sould not
I plan to re-send 'camera sensor properties' and 'ro subdev' by the end of this week

[08:52]
hverkuilNice. Looking forward to be able to merge these series, it's good work. [09:06]

hverkuilkoike: ping
tfiga: what is the status of the mt2701 jpeg enc support series?
[13:02]
dafna2: I think this is still under discussion? https://patchwork.linuxtv.org/cover/62553/ [13:11]
......... (idle for 40mn)
tfigahverkuil: in review :)
would benefit from another pair of eyes too
[13:51]
hverkuiltfiga: I'll see if I can find some time [13:55]
........... (idle for 50mn)
jmondi: sorry, I need a v7. The V4L2_SUBDEV_CAP_RW_SUBDEV capability makes no sense. I don't think I reviewed either v4 or v5 of this series, which is why I hadn't seen this before.
otherwise it all looks good.
[14:45]
jmondihverkuil: I was not sure if RW should be there or not, but as we have RO, I assumed informing userspace of RW was equally right
hverkuil: no problem though, I'll drop that
hverkuil: I should also take the opportunity of a v10 of camera properties to make ORIENTATION a menu control, something we keep forgetting about :/
I just noticed

..... (idle for 22mn)
hverkuiljmondi: which driver was it that was going to use v4l2_device_register_ro_subdev_nodes? Is that a patch that can be added to this series?
ah, the rpi driver.
Which is not yet ready to be merged. (I hope I can find some more time soon for code review of that driver)
[15:39]
jmondiyes, I left it out as it's not merged yet
hverkuil: Hans quick question, since you're around
[15:47]
hverkuilshoot [15:47]
jmondiI'm making V4L2_CID_CAMERA_ORIENTATION a V4L2_CTRL_TYPE_INTEGER_MENU [15:48]
hverkuilWhy? TYPE_MENU seems the right type to me. [15:48]
jmondiand I plan to register it with v4l2_ctrl_new_std_menu(), so that I can rely on v4l2_ctrl_get_int_menu() in the core to fill the menu items
ok then, it's a menu of integers, so I V4L2_CTRL_TYPE_INTEGER_MENU seems appropriate :)
oh I see it now, I should make a TYPE_MENU, register with v4l2_ctrl_new_std_menu() and rely on v4l2_ctrl_get_menu() so that I can provide a string to describe the options
[15:48]
hverkuilRight. [15:51]
jmondiTYPE_INTEGER_MENU wants -just- numerical values [15:51]
hverkuilINTEGER_MENU is for things like bitrates. [15:51]
jmondiI see, thanks, I'll work in that direction [15:51]
hverkuilGood that you asked :-) [15:51]
jmondiindeed :) [15:52]
dafna2hverkuil, yes is it still under discussion
so the problem currently is that media bus formats are only for video frames
so every media bus format that is not a video frame can only be MEDIA_BUS_FMT_FIXED which is the only format that is not a video frame
for example metadata or audio
so instead of addin a flag to the pad like I did in this patchset, it is easyer to add more media buses that are not video frame like you suggested to add MEDIA_BUS_FMT_FIXED_METADATA
then if needed also MEDIA_BUS_FMT_AUDIO and so on
[15:58]
............................................................ (idle for 4h55mn)
syounghverkuil: I've got the issue with suspend-resume with my serial IR device. It's very odd, the usb layer is return -ENOENT after the has been created
the same issue
as the pulse8-cec
