lyakhgot the mlx90640 infrared camera working with a raspberry pi, so far it's - grab frames, use a custom program to convert to ppm, display. To have some kind of a live camera display, I guess, the easiest would be to write a gstreamer plugin? Basically I'm getting an array of 16-bit values, but they're (for my temperature range) between 0xff00 and 0xffff, so, have to shift and scale [12:45]

there's a python (because what else) viewer, using a python user-space driver...

pinchartllyakh: it may be possible to leverage the ISP to shift and scale the range. not sure if it accepts 16-bit inputs though
but as you don't care about the MSBs, it may be doable
I suppose it's a low resolution, if data is tranferred over I2C, so CPU-based processing should then be OK
