toma: I'm writing support for autofocus firmware for ov5640, and it looks like userspace programs that query for autofocus support end up triggering autofocus. I want to avoid this. How is QUERYCTRL implemented? It presumably uses v4l2_ctrl_ops but how does it use that without the driver triggering the setting of a value?
Found it: v4l2_ctrl_new_std
hverkuil: neg: do you plan to post an update to rcar-isp as well? It looked fine to me, except for the small items I mentioned in my review.
I can combine it with the rcar-vin series.
***: toma has quit IRC (Quit: Page closed)
neg: hverkuil: I do, I was hoping to do so today but looks like I will need to push it to tomorrow, is that OK for you? If net let me know and I will make it happen today
mort_: https://p.mort.coffee/slE Does anyone have an idea what could cause that VIDOIC_STREAMON to error with -32?
that's the broken pipe errno

hverkuil: neg: tomorrow is fine, thank you.
neg: hverkuil: thanks
hverkuil: neg: I noticed that there are also rcar-csi patches for the r8a779a0 that haven't been merged yet ( sailus: what's the status of those). I think it is OK if the rcar-vin series goes in before the rcar-csi, but please confirm that.
neg: hverkuil: They can go in in any order (the rcar-vin, rcar-csi2 and rcar-isp) but all three are needed to enable capture on r8a779a0
hverkuil: I thought so, thanks for confirming.
mort_: error: https://p.mort.coffee/9LJ; topology: https://p.mort.coffee/1D8; topology graph: https://p.mort.coffee/fND.png
https://p.mort.coffee/6fm is the output of v4l2-compliance
hverkuil: mort_: the first two links (9LJ, 1D8) do not work.
EPIPE is typically used if the configured pipeline is invalid (inconsistent formats between the various components).
***: sailus has quit IRC (Quit: leaving)
mort_: the first two links as in the link from the ov5645 to csiphy1 and from csiphy1 to csid1?
hverkuil: yes, all the way to msm_vfe0_pix.
When you call STREAMON the pipeline is validated, and if invalid EPIPE is returned.
mort_: oh, lol, I read "the first two links" as in the first two links between nodes in the graph, I now see that you meant the URLs xP
hverkuil: Yes, URLs :-)
mort_: sorry, they work, but I separated my links with semicolons, make sure those semicolons didn't end up in the URL
so https://p.mort.coffee/1D8 and https://p.mort.coffee/9LJ
is there a way to get video4linux to say why the configured pipeline is invalid?
hverkuil: not that I know of. But it would be nice if media-ctl could do that.
mort_: it's odd that I see no fmt info for msm_csiphy1, msm_csid1 and msm_ispif1. Try setting formats for those entities.
***: sailus has joined #linux-media
mort_: hverkuil: that's curious yeah, I seem to be setting the format in the media-ctl command: https://p.mort.coffee/oil

jmondi: really ?
hverkuil: Can you double check, and if it is missing, repost? patchwork is my memory, if it isn't there, it doesn't exist :-)
