problems setting up dvb

another thing just crossed my mind.. i have no idea which dvb card i got, it
has the service provider's sticker on it (and they're not making it), here's
what the /proc/pci has to say about it:

    Multimedia controller: Philips Semiconductors SAA7146 (rev 1).
      IRQ 10.
      Master Capable.  Latency=32.  Min Gnt=15.Max Lat=38.
      Non-prefetchable 32 bit memory at 0xe5000000 [0xe50001ff].

i guessed that since the SAA7146 shows on both the siemens dvb driver and
here that it might be the same card and work properly, but after the initial
troubles i cannot help but wonder. any ideas? :)
