[linux-dvb] What is SkyData software?

I have visited EOL ftp site and there I found in directory linux software
called SkyData, but there isn't any README about the software or help.
Does anyone know what is about?
One more question. Is it possible to watch tv channels while surfing the
web under linux? On my system it didn't work, because gVideo and dvbd both
need /dev/video. I tried to switch gVideo to video1 but it couldn't open
/dev/video1.
