Maybe a fan from PAPST would be more silent!? I tried to get one, but at
the moment no Papst fans are available :-/ In my old P166 I used a large
fan (like the power supply fan) for cooling the CPU. Large fans are more
silent than the small ones.
There was a way to overclock or underclock the CPU using a pencil to
bridge some small conductors on the top of the CPU. But as far as I know
this feature is no longer possible for CPU's manufactured after 9/2000.
(I have the same problem. My vdr is too noisy so far).
