[linux-dvb] File Permissions/CHMOD

Hi,
this maybe a more Linux specific question, but what must I do to change the
"default" file permissions?
Currently VDR records files like:
-rw-r-----   1 root     root     1073952738 Apr 29 20:47 001.mpg
-rw-r-----   1 root     root     1073836214 Apr 29 21:24 002.mpg
-rw-r-----   1 root     root     1073841958 Apr 29 22:01 003.mpg
-rw-r-----   1 root     root     688869534 Apr 29 22:25 004.mpg
-rw-r-----   1 root     root      1619784 Apr 29 22:25 index.vdr
-rw-r--r--   1 root     root          491 Apr 29 20:10 summary.vdr

But I want it to record all files with -rw-r--r-- so that I can
watch the files on Windows with PowerDVD.

Now I must do a CHMOD 644 * before I can playing the files.
The /video dir. has the permission drwxrwxrwx and the subdirs
drwxr-xr-x.

Does anyone know what to do ?
