[linux-dvb] Very large PTS differences (UK Channel 4)
Hello,
I've been trying to use various tools to process recordings made from DVB-T
(Channel 4) in the UK using the Nova-t card. Recordings from this channel
(but not other UK DVB-T channels) give me lots of problems in various MPEG
tools, including Marcus Metzler's "mplex", the mjpegtools "mplex" and
PVAstrumento.
The PTS values for the Audio and Video streams are always a very large number
apart (e.g. VPTS-APTS=19913.5 seconds) and PVAstrumento always rejects the
recordings as "illegal streams". I can play them fine using mplayer, and VDR
happily works with this channel.
My usual process to create a clean MPEG recording is the following:
1) Record the TS from the DVB card (using my dvbstream program).
2) Roughly cut the TS (using "dd") to have one file per "part of broadcast
between two sets of adverts".
3) Convert the TS to a PS using Marcus Metzler's ts2ps program.
4) Use PVAstrumento on the file to remultiplex and correct any recording
errors.
This works fine on all recordings apart from Channel 4.
Any ideas for how I can process these recordings?
Regards,
Dave.
