[linux-dvb] Status of tuner.[ch] in version 0.9.4 driver?

Hello,
I wonder what the relationship between the "driver/tuner.[ch]" files 
included in the old 0.9.4 driver and the "tuner.[ch]" files in the
latest "linux-2.4.19/driver/media/video/tuner.[ch]"

Can I safely ignore the files from 0.9.4 and use the system provided,
or are there any strong dependencies?
