I get wired results while trying to generate an MP3 voice recording of CNN. Here is what I do: miernik@tarnica:~$ szap -n47 zapping to 'CNN Int.': sat 0, frequency = 12168 MHz V, symbolrate 27500000, vpid = 0x00a5, apid = 0x0064 using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' status 1f | signal c2c2 | snr d9d9 | ber 00000000 | unc ffffffff | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal bfbf | snr d8d8 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK miernik@tarnica:~$ pesdump 100 | pes2aud_es > CNN.mp2 pes2aud_es miernik@tarnica:~$ splay -vvvf CNN.mp2 CNN.mp2: MPEG-1 Layer 2, mono, 44100Hz, 64kbit/s, with crc check Totalframes 1692; Totaltime 0:44.20 Frame 71 [1621]; Time 0:1.85 [0:42.34] Frame 152 [1540]; Time 0:3.97 [0:40.23] Frame 252 [1440]; Time 0:6.58 [0:37.62] Frame 352 [1340]; Time 0:9.20 [0:35.00] Frame 452 [1240]; Time 0:11.81 [0:32.39] Frame 552 [1140]; Time 0:14.42 [0:29.78] Frame 653 [1039]; Time 0:17.06 [0:27.14] Frame 753 [939]; Time 0:19.67 [0:24.53] Frame 852 [840]; Time 0:22.26 [0:21.94] Frame 868 [824]; Time 0:22.67 [0:21.52] miernik@tarnica:~$ This recording was 45 seconds when I recorded it. But the MP2 plays for only 25 seconds. You can hardly understand what they say, it's like tape being played too fast. But splay informs about correct length (44.20 s), it only plays it too fast. The archive did not give anything meaningful: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&inlang=en&q=+site:www.linuxtv.org+mp2+fast BTW: Which MP2 player is really small and simple, is NOT non-free in Debian, and allows plaing from stdin? thank you, -- Miernik ____________________________________________________ ___ ICQ: 4004001 ___/___ tel.: +48608233394 ___/ mailto:miernik@ctnet.pl Bush "won" 2000 elections with 537 Florida votes.
