[linux-dvb] Technical info for TDA10045 frontend?
Hi,
I've recently acquired a TechnoTrend card with a TDA10045 frontend.
Because it works in Australia.
As far as I can tell there is no driver for this chip in the linux-dvb
project - certainly a message from January on the mailing list seems to
indicate this.
If this is still the case (and please stop me if I've missed something!)
then I want to write the driver for it. Given what I've seen of the other
frontend code it should be a piece of cake ... unless there's some
proprietary microcode lurking around.
So can anyone tell me how I'd go about getting the technical specs for the
chip? I went to the semiconductors.philips.com website and they only have
electrical info there, not the register/programming info I need (in fact
the author of the message from January found the same thing). Is there
some 'technical contact' address on the site that I missed?
Or do I have to resort to analysing the Windows driver? If so, what (free)
tools can I use to do that? Is there some magical way to snoop the PCI bus
to see what's written to the I2C registers of the SAA7146? Basically, what
are my options here? I've never had to reverse-engineer a Windows driver
before.
Thanks in advance.
