Hi,
I'm a very happy user of vdr and I would like to add satellite tuner to
my DVB-T box (or perhaps to a server box and use the streaming plugin).
I have a set top box which is using Satscan protocol based dish
positioner (not DiSEqC 1.2). I would like to reuse the dish and the
positioner. Does someone know if it is (im)possible to turn this thing
with Linux-DVB (with driver modifications)? Is the low level DiSEqC
protocol implemented in the kernel modules or is it deeper in the firmware?
I'm also interested how Budget DVB-S PCI cards compare in practise with
reception quality compared to dedicated set top boxes. In Finland
practically all free to air content requires quite large dish so good
reception is critical.
If I need to get a new positioner I'm interested in good DVB-S PCI card
recommendations which are able to drive DiSEQqC 1.2 positioners with ~
1m dish.
Thanks for any information!
BR,
Seppo
