(it should always compile so that your personal games does not affect 
other drivers - and you should be willing to fix the stuff you broke;)

In general things should go as soon as possible into CVS in order to 
avoid patch versioning confusion and to have a common reference source 
to talk about. If you start something really experimental and you expect 
to brake things for some time it's usually better to start a new CVS 
branch for this project and merge things into the main trunk as soon the 
code becomes stable.
