There is.. not sure where, but I think scart playback and IR receiving have 
both been mentioned in the last couple of months.  The issue of playback came 
up a few days ago, certainly.  There's some technical details of the protocol 
used if you're interested.

Well, I don't think there is anything technical to stop this from happening. 
The playback is streamed in much the same way as streaming from the dec, and 
I can't imagine the IR stuff would be too hard to implement.  I work on the 
driver in my spare time though, so I don't always feel like working on it.  
Patches are always welcome ;)
