Does it say stc version 2.2 for you as well? That sounds like a good way
to detect it (but I still don't full understand the linux driver
architecture, so maybe this is not easy ;)

Are you talking about the one that's 13316 bytes (vs the 13104 one in cvs
... which is very dodgy by the way guys!) or is there an even newer one? I
have tried both the one in cvs and the one included with the v2.17 drivers
(but not v2.17d) and I couldn't tell the difference - on my hardware
anyway.

Are you sure the code there has any effect? Isn't it the frontend that
actually does the switching? I have to set up the voltage in the TDA8083
on my hardware. I certainly couldn't switch voltages before doing that ...
but maybe you need to do both.

Yeah I think that function only successfully controls the power.

I would look at the different options for setting the voltage in the
stv0299 driver. There seem to be a lot!

btw Also not sure if the linux driver uploads the firmware properly if it
is not a multiple of 28 bytes ... I doubt it's your problem if you've got
so far, but might be worth a look.

btw2 I might be very confused but doesn't 18 volts => horizontal? So if
you only see 18 volts then it would prevent you tuning to the _vertical_
channels, and you would get the horizontal ones fine.
