[vdr] LIRC not working on SuSE 7.2
I'm trying to get the latest version of LIRC (0.6.4 from lirc.org)
to run on a SuSE 7.2 system.
'configure', 'make' and 'make install' all went fine, but when I run
the 'mode2' test program it doesn't show any activity on the serial
interface.
The LIRC hardware I'm using is the one from www.zapway.de, and it
is connected to COM1 (which would be /dev/ttyS1). The hardware itself
apparently works, I've tested it with an external power supply and an
oscilloscope.
Does anyone out there have an idea what little detail I might have
overlooked here?
I have made the entry
alias char-major-61 lirc_serial
in /etc/modules.conf and ran '/sbin/depmod -a'. So I would assume that
the next logical step would be to run 'mode2' to see if there is any
data coming in when I press a button on the rc. 'mode2' does load the
'lirc_serial' module, which logs the following
Nov 1 12:45:05 fox kernel: lirc_serial: auto-detected active high receiver
But then when I press buttons on the rc, nothing happens.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I'm just making a stupid
beginner's mistake?
