No, I have only one receiver connected, *but* I have an IR distribution
network in my house based on DC coupling on the UHF antenna cable which
feeds IR signals fom other rooms not only into the IR receiver connected
the VDR server, it also feeds the IR signals into each component of my
home theater. I control *all* the centrally located A/V components from
all rooms in may house having a tv. See CP3025 (PAL version)
http://www.channelplus.com/Allinone.htm
I used this solution because wireless transport of IR wasn't very
reliable.

My server is in the basement so I also have the composite and S-video
signals piped through SAT coax into my home-theater. This works fine,
but you have to experiment to get a clean S-video signal out of the PC.

I don't know whether a second receiver will work as the lircd only has
control over one receiver. Running licrd twice may run you into problems
with the listen port.

That would be nice, but isn't possible easily. You could run two VDRs
using one DVB-s each but you would loose time-shift.
