If you have more than one Card in your VDR try this.
Start one VDR-Instance at the card your TV is conected with "-V
/video-kids and svdrp 2001" and change there the Channels.vdr so it only
include the channels for your kids.
Include it in your startup script.

Then for yourself start the second instance with "-V /video and svdrp
2002" and use there all the channels you want to have.
If you want to use your channels killall vdr-1 from your kids and start
vdr only one instance for all Cards and "-V /video"

So you can record over the day all your Channels, and your kids only can
see what the recorded.
And when the sleep you switch to your favorites ;).
For programming use vdradmin or svdrp with 2001 and 2002 for the
different instances.

To start VDR in more then one instance i found some older Postings from
Mastertimer, but i didnt know at now witch switch is used to start them.
