Hi,
my Asus CUWE has two IR Connectors:
one for SIR (should be IRDA?)
and the other for CIR (Consumer Infrared)
The advantage of the CIR-Connetor should be, that this
make it possible to power up the PC via Remote Control.
The Pins for CIR are: GND, CIRRX and CIR+5V.
Can I directly connect here an TSOP 1738 for use with LIRC?
In the Bios-Setup I can configure an IRQ and I/O-Address vor CIR.
So I would have left my two COM-Ports for other devices.
Bernd
