Hi,
(a little bit OT)
how did you do that?
I've written a similar script:

tail -f /var/log/messages | ./callscript.pl

the callscript filters the input of messages and calls svdrpsend.
but after 2-3 days it won't work and I have to kill the tail process
and start it again and I know not why or where it hangs.
