I also had problems recording "Jackie Brown" and "Raumschiff Enterprise"
last night (both recordings had severe video-glitches about every 5
seconds). Donīt know about the actual CPU-load :-{
I use VDR 1.0-pre4 / DVB-driver 0.9.4-2002-03-16 on 3 DVB-s-Cards (1
Hauppauge DVB-s 2.1 and 2 NOVAs) with a Celeron 400 and most of the time
the system works nearly perfect. But sometimes I recognize the following
problems:
- While zapping around the screen becomes black and no live-video/audio
is shown. This sometimes can be recovered by playing a record for some
seconds, but most of the time I have to restart vdr or reboot.
- Playback doesnīt start (there is still life-video, no audio). Good
idea to restart vdr.
- Playback is asynchronous (seems to happen more likely with recordings
taken during full load, i.e. using all 3 cards at the same time).
Stopping and restarting playback several times helps sometimes.
- Sometimes very slow reactions of vdr (e.g. it takes 10 seconds to
change a channel). Reboot helps.
- The cutting-thread nearly kills my machine - it takes nearly 30
seconds to read the recordings-list while cutting is in progress.
Sometimes vdr even gets a timeout and restarts.
(Even on my old K6-233 I never had a problem with this!!!)
The strange thing is that sometimes it works perfectly for a week or
longer and then I have these problems for some days although I reboot
nearly every hour.
Greetings,
Joachim
