Well, not one button. But if I press "RED" for preferred channel menu, then 
(while I'm in the preferred channel menu), pressing another key (red, or 
whatever) should allow to mark this channel as preferred.

To summarize:
Being in normal viewing mode => RED =>show pref. channel menu => Other color 
=> mark this channel as preferred.
