Nova-T with mplayer for playback works great.  mplayer can drive a DXR3
(and its rather efficient with mpeg2 source, of course).  So I say yes, no
problem.

Using VDR, though?  I understand it doesn't really work as the OSD stuff
in VDR won't work.
