I don't understand what you mean.
I have NEVER used the device "native" as i don't have the possibility to
use a native IDE-Device.
I know that Joerg (author of cdrecord) had problems with a IDE <-> SCSI
Adapter which wasn't capable of doing DMA on the IDE-side and so wasn't
capable of doing the job. Firewire <-> IDE is much more in wide use and
the adapters are "mature". (There is practicaly no market for IDE <->
SCSI and the adapters existing are "not so good", to be polite). As i
said i use it for > 1 Year now and i NEVER had a Problem in that part.
(Actually i'm the first user for DVR-A03 under Linux(AFAIK))
