[vdr] AW: Re: SCART status pin for turning the TV on
If the TV is in standby mode and the voltage is supplied to Pin 8 of one
of the AV connectors, my tv switches on and to the corresponding input.
Once the voltage is gone it switches back to standby mode again.

Hi,
| At least my DVD player provides this feature: the TV is turned on
| automatically when the DVD player is turned on, and the TV shutsdown
| when the DVD player is shutdown. This is a feature of the SCART cable.
| I'm not sure which pin provides it thought (I'm guessing it's one of
| the status pins).
I guess PIN8 is used for it. Usually it is used to switch the TV to the
AV and for newer TVs the volatage selects aspect, ie. 12V means 3:3 and
6-8V (not sure) means 16:9 (anamorphic). It is the first time that I
heard it is possible to switch the TV on and off via this way (I guess
with selected modells). Interesting indeed. Unfortunately I cannot give
any hints considering VDR.
