[vdr] Re: what causes cTS2PES errors?

The Nova Budget cards are in a P4 2.4 GHz with 1 GB RAM. So I think
processor power is not a problem. Could a busy PCI bus cause this
trouble too?
That's what I suspect - yes.
Recording from all 4 cards are about 1 Gigabyte of data in 10 Minutes.
If there was a bigger buffer for the video-stream on the card, this
amount would not be a problem. But a constant 1.6 MB per second is
probably too much for the PCI-Bus since there are always other activities.
The CPU-load is low - about 2.5 % per recording.
What cards do you use? Now I use two low-budget cards but I have to full featured cards available and I think I will make a test @sunday to see if these cards work better. Maybe they have a better buffer and/or driver managment.

Might be that it was better on a SCSI-based system since IDE is not
the optimum solution for video-streaming.
This is too expensive I think. Creating a 300 GB SCSI system is not an option for me.
