[vdr] dxr3: sound gone after updating to latest version??

Hello list!
After many weeks of near-perfect functioning, I recently updated the 
version of vdr (1.2.6pre4) and that of various plugins.

The 'new' stuff gave a picture, but no sound to my dxr3 - *exept* when 
playing dvds with the dvd plugin. Recordings worked fine and contained 
sound, but again this can't be played back through the dxr3.

I then rolled back to the 'old' 1.2.5, which now behaves exactly the 
same without sound. This is even when dxr3 is the only plugin loaded. Is 
there something in the .conf files that the updated vdr or plugins might 
have changed to cause this?

any suggestions appreciated!

PS Here's some of the error output that vdr has started giving. But 
these are ffmpeg/libavcodec error messages !?!?
