Luckily I got a friend with the exact same Hermes MSI 651, he is
running a (I guess recent) SuSE with 2.4.21-pre99 and reported today,
that he had the soundcard running just fine, no error-messages when
playing mp2.
We compared the systems, etc. and he also had all devices on one
interrupt, only difference was: he used Alsa 0.9.6 (was already on his
SuSE CD).
I then downgraded to alsa 0.9.6 and what do you know? No errors any
more. Unfortunately I cannot hear sound from any recording that only
has one mp2 audio-track. And after an unsuccessful playback, the sound
in live-view stutters and keeps on doing so, until I restart Alsa and
VDR.
Kind regards Frederick
