This has been discussed before and there are more or less complicated 
possibilites:

1. simply store the last xxx-frames of the stream in the buffer and replay 
them if the key is hit, say pressing the button for more than x-seconds jumps 
to the live-stream (simply ommitting the intermediate time)

2. always use timeshift-mode while live watching but enable channel-switches 
(which is not possible so far)

3. combine 1+2 and create the timeshift-mode on the fly by creating a 
recording on demand (aka: hitting the instant-replay-key)
