but can tell you that autoswitching works for me. Unfortunately I'm not
sure why, as I've connected my VDR-Box via am AV-Receiver which only has
Cinch connectors. But it definetly works ( sometimes it takes a bit to
switch back from 16:9 to 4:3).
I guess it's afeature of my Philips TV-set
Hi Klaus,
My vdr box is connected to a 16/9 TV. Unfortunately, here in France, we have
*only* two trues 16/9 channels. It means that every time I zap from a
"normal" to a "wide" channel, I've as well switch manually the tv from "4/3"
to "16/9".
I would like to automate this feature. AFAIK, the only way to drive tv mode
switching, is to connect it through a SCART connector instead of "cinch" or
"mini-din". In this way, in case of 16/9 program, the source transmit a
special signal (*) to switch between "normal" and 'wide' modes.
(*) by changing the "commutation lente" pin level from 6V to 12v.
I plan to build a home made SCART connector to add the feature. The
commutation signal could be fetched from a serial or parallel port, buffered
and voltage ajusted, before driving the SCART through "commutation lente"
pin.
In VDR version 1.3x, could it be possible that VDR "trig" a serial (or
parallel) port pin in case of 16/9 programs ?
If there is another possibility, fell free to tell us ;-)
Regards.
Karim.
