[vdr] Re: VS: Re: [FeatureRequest 1.3.x] using IR-Keyboard
That seems logical. But there could be potential problems based on how
your keys were assigned wouldn't there?
The keyboard I have happens to have separate alphabetic keys and TV
control keys so it won't really affect me.. Except for the fact that
the Return key doubles as OK but that's not an alpha key anyway :P

VDR's KBD support already handles alphabetic keys if they come from
the
keyboard. Either install your IR keyboard as a "normal" keyboard, or
write
a cRemote plugin that gathers the input from your IR keyboard and
stores
it in VDR's remote control input queue (see cKbdRemote for how this
can be
done).

When using keyboard and e.g. typing names for
recordings, if there is keyboard alphabetical keys assigned to VDR
remote commands, those keys cannot be used for typing, e.g. M assigned
for MUTE etc.
Shouldn't this assignment be temporarly overridden for aplhabetical
keys
while in typing mode so that you can type these names correctly?
