Hi Tilo,

Are you sure that you dont have UPT Errors in your logfile ?

I have same Problem sometimes and allways i got UPT Errors. By default
VDR donīt do a restart at UPT Errors - i applyed a small patch wich 
do a Restart after 10 UPT Errors - this is sure not the Solution but
i can live with it.
