[vdr] Re: mplayer/streamdev

Hello,

I have a problem playing a HDTV (euro1080) stream using streamdev and
mplayer (windows).

Do you mean "Windows Media Player" or MPlayer (from http://www.mplayerhq.hu/) compiled for win32. In the latter case, was it compiled for cygwin or binary downloaded from where or whatever?

I'm using vdr-1.2.6, plus some patches including the HDTV patch. I can
record euro1080 just fine.
Now i installed streamdev-0.3.0. When i play the euro1080 stream using
mplayer on my laptop it plays just fine, but after about half an hour the picture
freezes and mplayer spits out "stream not seekable!" messages. I can restart
mplayer immediatly and it works ok for another half an hour.

Seam, like you mean MPlayer! And you use it on Windows? Did you try using MPlayer on Linux with you setup, or did you try another player (I think Windows Media Player can also play http-URLs; xine can play http-URLs with MPEG data on linux).

There is no trace of all this in the vdr logs. It seems that mplayer reads
the stream just fine, but cannot play it anymore.

Any hints anyone?

Hmm, if it happens every half-hour: Isn't euro1080 only transmitting a endless looped content all the time. Maybe, they restart every half-hour and mplayer or the streamdev-plugin gets confused about it!

You my 2 cents.
(BTW: Can someone explain me, what this sentense should tell exactly? :-) )
