[vdr] SV: Re: Viaaccess 2.0 + CAM

My CAM module is upgradable. Problem is that it´s not supported by Boxer and therefore there is no way of upgrading from them.
Question is how to upgrade the module. To buy a new one is expensive.

PS! I have a box from Boxer that works OK.

That depends on the CAM module.
If it is just a fixed Viacces1.x cam then you will not be able to play Viacces2.x encoded video.
If you have a upgradable CAM, then check if the CAM can be upgraded

The smartcard just contains subscription data of..Boxer in this case so no decoding stuff.

Subject: [vdr] Viaaccess 2.0 + CAM

I run VDR 1.3.6 together with an DVB-T premium card + Viaaccess Rev 1.0 (red label) CAM module on the Swedish terrestrial net (Boxer). It has been working OK up till now.
But!!! The coded channels stopped working when Boxer decided to switch smart card to Viaaccess 2.0.
When I enter Consultations for the module under CICAM menu i Vdr, it says Please insert smart card.

Question: Do I need another CAM module or has it something to to with VDR or the DVB driver or what?

If somone has any ideas please let me know!

Tomas
