OK, I think I could implement this.

Hmm... what happens exactly if I issue this command (e.g., always in
some of the start scripts, with a cron-job, etc.)... specifically, what
happens if the start of vdr is due to a recording and I nevertheless
issue this command (or, perhaps issue it during a running recording)? Do
I have to take care myself that I only issue the command if the start is
due to EPG scan and no other important things are running?
