I just tried out softdevice 0.0.7pre1 and vdr 1.3.11, and i have this
"jerkiness" too.
(machine is an Athlon XP1700, kernel 2.6.7-rc3 and debian unstable)
vdr tells syslog:
ERROR: 391 ring buffer overflows (73310 bytes dropped)
i don't know which ringbuffer it's talking about ;), but this seems to
be the reason sound&video glitches

The playback of both video and audio (live tv and recodings) is very
jerky. audio skips around every second. If I bring a menu to the screen
it flashes at the same frequency. I get a lot of following errors:
