[vdr] Re: softdevice/xine-vdr and audio
Hi,

There is one more problem with these both plugins: audio.
Everything is OK on recorded stream, so vdr works correctly.
But, in softdevice on some channels audio is dissapearing for a while, then it
back. Like:

In xine-vdr audio just need to grip:
# ## ### #### ##### ###### #########################
I tried to tune audio settings in xine, but I can't change this behaviour.
It happens mostly on channels with static picture (i.e. radio channel with picture).
Each time when I change channel I need to wait about half of minute to play audio smoothly.
Looks like there are buffer underruns. Can you prove that this issue goes away
by setting the prebuffer to 100?
I assume, that you are using xine-0.4.3. Then, this setting will result in a
slowstart phase of 4 seconds, but it's just a test. Another test would be, to
pause playback in xine for a few seconds (e. g. until VDR starts printing 'P's).
I've recognized such a behaviour too for some ASTRA promotion channels, but
didn't look into it, as I thought, that watching the promotion channels would
be a rare case.
Are such radio channels on ASTRA or HOTBIRD? It would be nice, if you could
send the entries of your channels.conf.
What does xine output with --verbose=2 when you switch to such a channel?
Bye.
