[vdr] VDR SVDR Protocol?

Hi,

I'm working on an application framework for multimedia devices, and would like 
to know where the documentation of the svdr protocol is at (if any?). If 
there are no documentation, what files/interfaces would be good to look at 
first?

Also, could someone provide a short description of the svdr protocol, so I 
have an idea of what framework would suit it?
