[vdr] newbie problem

Hello people. I need some help. I’m using:
Slackware 10,kernel 2.4.26, dvb-20050201.tar.bz2 drivers,Skystar 1(no 
budget). I tried drivers’ version 1.1.1 but vdr needed API version 3.
I’m new to vdr. I have used 1.2.6,1.3.18,1.3.19.
First of all I must say that my diseqc.conf has errors because I don’t 
know what I have to do in order to use Hotbird. What should I do?

Shouldn’t vdr have a gui ?
I can’t see nothing. Correct me if I’m wrong.
