I have updated my vdr:<br>

Old: Celeron 850 MHz, 256 MB Ram, very slow but silent PATA disk,<br>
Debian, vdr 1.4.x (e-tobi)<br>

New: AMD Athlon X2 2,1 GHz, 2 GB Ram, standard SATA disk, Ubuntu, vdr<br>
1.6.x (self-compiled from e-tobi&#39;s repository)<br>
<br>
The hardware should be much faster now, but vdr turns very slow and<br>
unresponsive whenever it cuts a recording in the background. vdr reacts<br>
to a button on the remote with notable delay.<br>
<br>
(I don&#39;t remember this behaviour with the old vdr setup.)<br>
<br>
Any idea where to look for this issue?<br>
