I lose sync on live tv as well as recordings and get the following in /var/log/messages.

I made the mods to VDR as you suggested but haven't seen either entry in the log file yet.

 

I want to try and isolate a recording sample shortly to give to Oliver, but obviously there is nothing I can do about the live sync problem (you're welcome to visit my house if you like!!!)
