[linux-dvb] Kernel and

Hi All,

I think I have slept 8 hours in this week.

I have tried kernels (with pre 2.6.12 patch) 2.6.15, and I have compiled dvb 1.0.0, 1.0.1, 1.1.0, 1.1.1, v4l-dvb.

I have downloaded v4l-dvb trees using hg and downloaded the dst_algo stuff
too, too many too mention.

I have read the entire Mailing list for August on how Dave Shile and Manu
got his Twinhan 1025 card working.

Please, please, please can someone help me? I have a via CN700 mini-ITX
board with a TwinHan 1025 DVB-S card.

The problem is quite simple:

1) The modprobe dvb-core, bttv card=0x71, dvb-bt8xx, dst does not
create the devices files. It only create demux0, dvr0, net0

2) I am not sure if I should compile the kernel with or without DVB
support. Compiling with DVB support on 2.6.17 gives duplicate symbol error

3) Should I include any configuration on /etc/modprobe.conf

4) Dmesg extract:

bttv: driver version 0.9.16 loaded

bttv: using 8 buffers with 2080k (520 pages) each for capture

bttv: Bt8xx card found (0).

ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:08.0[A] -> Link [LNKB] -> GSI 11 (level, low) ->
IRQ 11

bttv0: Bt878 (rev 17) at 0000:00:08.0, irq: 11, latency: 16, mmio:

bttv0: detected: Twinhan VisionPlus DVB [card=113], PCI subsystem ID is

bttv0: using: Twinhan DST + clones [card=113,insmod option]

bttv0: gpio: en=00000000, out=00000000 in=00d500ff [init]

bttv0: using tuner=1

bttv0: add subdevice "dvb0"

bt878: AUDIO driver version 0.0.0 loaded

bt878: Bt878 AUDIO function found (0).

ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:00:08.1[A] -> Link [LNKB] -> GSI 11 (level, low) ->
IRQ 11

bt878_probe: card id=[0x11822],[ Twinhan VisionPlus DVB ] has DVB functions.

bt878(0): Bt878 (rev 17) at 00:08.1, irq: 11, latency: 4, memory: 0xfdffe000

I do the modprobe, then I get this:

DVB: registering new adapter (bttv0).

dst_probe: unknown device.

frontend_init: Could not find a Twinhan DST.

dvb-bt8xx: A frontend driver was not found for device 109e/0878 subsystem

5) lspci -vv output:

O yes, my father was in charge of a $100,000,000 construction budget and
recently died, you won the NL lotto, I have cheap Rolexes and have secret
manhood pills.

Best Regards,

Cornel van Lingen
