Wireshark (formerly known as Ethereal) is a cross-platform packet sniffer. Its importance, in context to V4L-DVB, stems from Wireshark's ability to capture raw USB traffic, by way of libpcap and the [[[usbmon]] kernel module, thereby providing insight on the way a USB based device is controlled.
